I have yet to see a start date or where the date is calculated, searched through afew files to no avial, anyone know?

sorry I Wasnt clear, this is in reference to ubbthreads. How they store their date so I can throw it out on a front end like page. I need to convert the date to a legible format, I dont know if its stored in seconds or where it starts, like 1980 etc.
