I just viewed a member's profile, and tried editing them, as I was sure that they were banned in the past. As soon as I clicked 'become this user', I get the following:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/winnie/public_html/ubbthreads/languages/english/admin/sendpassword.php on line 5

What is in /languages/english/admin/sendpassword.php on line 5 ?
It might be one of those bugs introduced by the updater.

Line 5 states: []$ubbt_lang['PASS_SENT'] = "A temporary password has been sent to this user.";[/] Could someone please advise what it should say? Thanks

The text looks ok. Does the error still occur?
Paste the whole file here.

I'm not sure where the problem is here. It is obviously a bug with ubbthreads, and I have asked for help. If anyone looks at my profile, they will see that I do, indeed, run ubbthreads v6.5.1
Yes, the error still occurs, and yes I do need to fix this.

Hehe, you are right, partially.
The thing is though, that this is a language file, and the language files can be downloaded freely at the infopop site, albeit not the english ones.

the file if its the same I have looks like
$ubbt_lang['PASS_SUBJ'] = "Password for "; $ubbt_lang['PASS_BODY'] = "Below you will find the login information for the website '%s' at %s.\nLogin Name: %s\nNew Password: %s";
Login Name: %s New Password: %s"; $ubbt_lang['F_LOC'] = "this member's profile."; $ubbt_lang['PASS_SENT'] = "A temporary password has been sent to this user.";
I think the real problem is in
$ubbt_lang['PASS_BODY'] = "Below you will find the login information for the website '%s' at %s.\nLogin Name: %s\nNew Password: %s";
Login Name: %s New Password: %s";
makes no sense.. its not a properly formated $ubbt_lang['PASS_BODY'] string

I think the file should read
$ubbt_lang['PASS_SUBJ'] = "Password for "; $ubbt_lang['PASS_BODY'] = "Below you will find the login information for the website '%s' at %s.\nLogin Name: %s\nNew Password: %s"; $ubbt_lang['F_LOC'] = "this member's profile."; $ubbt_lang['PASS_SENT'] = "A temporary password has been sent to this user.";
If you want to tinker with the email sent then in \admin\sendpassword.php alter the line...
$body = sprintf($ubbt_lang['PASS_BODY'],$config['title'],"{$config['phpurl']}/ubbthreads.php",$login_name,$pass);
Although I haven't altered this one, I tend to add in an into into the email, and signature with a strap line beneath the info sent. Looks more profesional.
