What does it mean that threads is and "End of life" product?

If threads is going to be discountinued and no longer developed... where do we go?
I rely a lot on threads with IIP

I like to have the latest software...

That is it in a nutshell...except that Spring 2005 has probably become (at the earliest) Fall 2005.

A lot of folks have been swapping to FusionBB due to the familiarity, or vBulletin as well. I have looked at both, but in fairness want to also see the new product before swapping over.

Just a clarification FusionBB has been in ALpha from August 2003 to till December 2004 (with many updates)it has been in Beta since then to now. Is current version appears to be .13 Beta with several udates since the version change. Do they expect to ever get this out of Beta as 2 years since starting testing seems a long time (although I feel as though I have paid to be a guinea pig for threads for the past 2 years). Any Idea on there time line for a comleted product?

Right now, it's slated to be released to the public for purchase around the 15th of this month or so. Actually, 2 years from the beginning of an idea to this time is not that long of a period for a piece of brand new software.
