UBB.Developers Forums UBB.threads 7 Development How Do I? Forums have disappeared

Hi everyone, hoping someone here can help me out.

I'm running Ubbthreads 6.5.1.1

This afternoon all of the forums disappeared. The software seems to be running fine still - there are no error messages, and all of the users are still there.

But on the main screen there are no forums, and when I go into the control panel it shows Total Forums: 0

If I look in the database tools tab of the admin area it shows the table "Posts" as being about 67 megs, so I'm assuming all my data is still there.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? (I dont want to have to restore to a backup unless absolutely necessary.)

with this version maybe your server is hacked. You should upgrade to 6.5.5
Do you verify all other tables? Posts is only one of many. What up with Users, Groups etc.pp?

Check the database for errors
Check the database for all tables still exists
Check the server for running bots, backdoors, defacements

If you found something:
Clean out all bots, kill the running tasks
Change the databse password
Restore your database and files from backup

Yes, could be hacked.

You may need to restore from a backup as well. I'd back up the includes folder/files and stylesheets and nuke the forum directory and re-upload. You'll still need to check all remaining files on your site, especially any file ending in .php, .pl and .cgi and any .htaccess files as well.
