Too bad they don't have it in Linux. I was just hitting my comfort zone. But I'm signed up now and I'll leave my computer on in Windows XP all day while I work for a good cause. I'd leave it on all night, but w/ 2 fans, it really does make too much noise

Hey Josh, Is there a way to make this program work faster? My computer is a 121 and it takes about 12 hours to finish one task, which means I can get ~750 points a day. Can I speed this up? There really ought to be an option to increase the amount of CPU resources dedicated to this. Thanks!

My processor is pegged anytime that I don't have it snoozed. Do you have yours set to only work as a screen saver? The overall rating of my machine is a 62. It was like 84 when I first installed it. Not sure what happened. I think it is because I filled most of my HDD yesterday and then moved a few Gigs to another computer. I don't think it likes that.

Mine runs all the time also My computer is pegged at 121. What I don't understand is the storage. It says I have 0.98 GB, while the average is 5GB. I don't get it because this is on my first harddrive, w/ 80 GB of space (some used up, but nowhere near full).

Mine does the same thing. I thought it was a percentage of freespace(I have a 10 Gig drive) but know I think it must be looking at something different.

Haven't looked at it in a long time, but you used to be able to assign how much hard drive space to use. Try that?

I also think Navaho said you'll get the most points by giving it the maximum stuff.

How do I give it "the maximum stuff?" ***EDIT*** I figured out how to change the amount of storage allocated to the program. I'm upping mine from 1.0GB to 10GB. Will this speed things up? I am already overclocking at 2.133gHz and have 768MB of RAM.

He's spanky, you just spelled it wrong. The correct spelling is "spankee".

It only sends information to the server once every day or so, usually in the middle of the night. So typically you need to at least run the software for 24 hours before you will see points on the website.

This is from the instructions at http://www.drumlines.org/threads/showflat.php?Number=381521: Open your UD Agent window and click on preferences. (Check mark) 2: Click on modify device profile. 3: Insert pw and login if you haven't already. 4: Go to my device manager. 5: Select the profile name. (It's probably default.) 6: Scroll down to current grid projects and only have a check on cancer, phase II.

Hi all. I had to re dl the program because I changed hd and added a laptop to my network. I put the program on the laptop to run 24-7. I made a profile and set everything to max When I first joined the ubbdev tam It never told me if i was part of the team or not. it did tell me that ubbdev was the fastes growing team to date. How do I find out if I am on the ubbdev team? I dont want to be working for anyone else ya know....

Login to your account at grid.org and at the bottom of the page it should give your statistics and what team you are a member of.
