Okay, this one should be installed at Leoville.

Will there be anymore betas after this?

Oh yeah, I just parked my butt in my big leather computer chair and this was the announcement I see. EXCELLENT! And since 90% of my members are on vacation already for the weekend, I can upgraded with little ill-effects

Thanks!

Although, I just went to the members area and did not see it

EDIT: Nevermind, it is there. The link still says b1, but when you click it, it downloads the b4 zip file

yes, still getting used to this Mac. File didn't go where I thought it went, and I wasn't seeing what I thought I was seeing. IE, updated the qa site, not the live one. The files is there, the page is marked wrong. Just a minute, I'll fix it.

Don't know. Depends how many bugs are found, and the severity of them. I surely hope not, but I'm not going to say for sure there will not be.

Search flood control. Keeps someone from bringing the site down by repeatedly searching for the word "the". I think it's set on 30 seconds.

Hi,

Have to admit that I really do not like the new way the links to the threads work (i.e. click on the thread go to the first post, click on the arrow go to the first unread). Much prefered to the old way, but I guess it shouldn't be that much work to hack that.

I already posted a hack to allow users the option of changing the behavior back.
Check the modification index.

Hi,

Cool! We haven't actually upgraded yet, but it is nice to know that I won't have to deal with this 'feature'

Will you be adding it here as well?

Yeah, I don't like threaded mode unless I'm linking to a specific post.

Would you prefer blue? - I think blue is more the color of Jazz anyway.

No Way! If I was green, I would be confused with moderators.

Maybe we should all have our names in the colours of our national flags - I could be red, white & blue

Upgrading.php - Authentication somehow went wrong.
I cannot log in, cannot continue and just get this login screen again.
No error message, no help, just that screen.
I have no idea how to continue at this critical point. And I think that it is not so brilliant programming to get trapped like that without information, this part of the beta code should be revised....

Has anyone else gone thru this too?
Is there an official beta board out there for help and reports?

Greetings Carl

Thanks - Found the Beta Forum but could not subscribe:
"SQL Database errors only visible to admin" very cool!

I was upgrading to 65.b4 from 64.2.
Does not matter for the problem. A login-failure WITHOUT ANY feedback should not happen in any case. Looking at the source code shows that there was no line of code was spend in providing a feedback. How can I know what went wrong.

I am not so confident at the moment about the new version, I must say.

Greetings
Carl

Did the 6.5 upgrade today as well as a new Fedora Core 2 install (finally) and everythign seems to be running smoothly! Great job guys. One thing thought that people are already freaking out about is the whole "FOLDER" thing next to each post. They are confused to what its actual purpose is. Anyone care to explain?

Yellow folder is unread, white folder is read.

The next column is the message icon as always.

The reason we did that is because people had to make yellow and white moood icons previously, hard to do.

There are a ton of websites with a ton of message icons and a ton of folder icons, but nto too may with yellow and white mood icons. It's just easier to customize the looks fo your board if the message icons and the read/unread indicators are split out.

It also means that when we redo the icons we can make life easier on our artist, Judd. Same goes for you and your artist if you decide not to use our images.
