I am having a problem with my site. Every few hours my site just stop serving with no error messages being displayed.. There are no messages in the log files and IIS did not stop only the site stopped serving. Any ideas? One more thing the site usually gets real slow before it crashes.

Are you doing your own hosting? Have you talked to your webhost to see what the problem might be?

What version of IIS? I run UBBT on IIS 4 and it runs fine. Is your server running low on disk space maybe? I'm guessing here with not much info to go on.

ZoneAlarm isn't the best thing to be using for a server as I have found it to crash things on my desktop machine. Are you connected with a router? If so does this provide a NAT firewall? That whould be the better route as far as server protection goes.

Exactly what is stopping on your server? Is it IIS entirely, or is it just one site? Do you have the latest service packs installed for your system? How do you fix the problem when it happens? can you just restart the service, or do you need to reboot?

Just the site stops, IIS does not stop. All service packs are installed and to fix the problem I have to reboot the machine. I tried restarting the service but that does not work.

HMM, are you experiencing anonymous users on the site that never leave? Thus, hogging resources that never get released. I had this happen once, trying to remember what was causing it. It had to do with the IIP 4.3 page, and I removed the pal that was doing this. Maybe I'll remember more later. Try uninstalling whatever php addons/hacks you have done recently to figure out which it was.
Try setting up your performance monitor to watch that web site for anonymous users on the web service. This is what told me where my issue was. I was having SQL queries that just never ended. It was weird, but it went away after I figured out exactly what caused it and removed it.

Thanks for the help guy but I removed zone Alarm and installed a router with Nat and that seem to have solved the problem. Knock on wood
