I saw that - he's a cheeky little monkey

Plus I hear when you view that thread - it erases your post count.

hehehe I didn't think browsers would bother with a style tag in the middle of the body. I been playing with CSS here and there to get an idea of what can be done to replace the use of tables for display layouts.

I thought that hiding the quick reply box would be nice and only display it if it's going to be used. Then I was curious if the whole page would vanish using the attribute I had in mind... lol

<style type="text/css">body{display:none;}</style>

and Poof, gone. LoL

With a small amount of javascript you can hide and show information as on the pages and keep things clean.

So far I have found that IE 6.0 sucks when compared to more standards compliant browsers such as the latest Mozilla (Firebird) and Opera 7.0 offerings..

And from the looks of things it will be a while before there's an IE 7.0 and who knows how they'll deal with standards when they are controlling such a large share of the browser market...

Yes that really adds the pizzaz to UBB.x

My main site uses such a system but it's 2 years old and needs updating for sure... not all of the browsers (well the ones worth using now) seemed to work with the getElementById object method at that time. I ended up creating a pretty good mess trying to javascript for everything. Got sick of it and gave up on trying to make all browsers happy... lol

Now I see the light. Mozilla Firebird.

I am debating on making my site work and render well in a standards compliance sort of way and let the IE users know it's their aging IE browser that's the problem and suggest that they go download Opera or Mozilla.

It would be nice to see these other browsers gain some market share while IE 7.0 remains in the distance.

just thought of a another user for that display:none; trick...

If an ignore feature is ever implimented and a post is made by someone on the viewer's ignore list the post's body <td> could be made to vanish. LoL

These are also useful for, say not needing a modification to have a "print view". you can hide the Userdata, sigs & Quick reply with a special print stylesheet.
