I wanted to quickly share a great experience with all of you:
When my children were younger, they each asked in turn why there were so many Santas. I explained, much to my wife's horror, that Santa was dead and the Santas that they were meeting were people dressed up like Santa.
We have a great sense of humor in my family so my children started to laugh and protest. I went on to explain that Santa Clause did so many wonderful things when he was alive that everyone all over the world feels his spirit of giving every year. In this way, Santa Clause will always live in the hearts of people that are kind and charitable.
My Children hugged me then and I will always remember that day. Today they are only 11 and 13 but are constantly volunteering at the shelter in town and gathering coats or other things for Christmas distribution.
I am both proud and humbled at my children's understanding of Christmas and the way they celebrate it. I wish all of you the very best holiday season and hope that the spirit of Christmas finds you.
I rarely post here but wanted to share this with all of you.
