read about it here.
installed it.
love it.

but.

i think microsoft figured out how to get around it, b/c since last week i've been getting many many pop-ups when i have msn windows open. i was so happy in my blissful little pop-up free world, and now the pop-ups are back.

has anyone heard anything about google working on an update? or is there a pop-up blocker i can install to beat msn??

thank you very much.

You can have software made to make your own toolbar. Check mine out here: http://www.ultimatenurse.com/nursingbar.php

It would be a pretty cool thing to offer your users, plus, you can integrate it with your mysql db so they'll be automatically logged into threads when they go there from the toolbar. (I haven't done that)

I don't think so. It's pretty awesome though. I have a drop down on the left with five links to my site, then the rest are just resources related to the nursing industry, affiliate links, etc. The last one on the right is an "interact" link, which takes you to my forum/live chat, and on the far right is a teeny tiny banner rotator.

I love it, because there are a bunch of nursing versions of the toolbar out there, and I didn't make it, yet they ALL link to my site, and my forums and chat!!!

So, anytime someone downloads the nursing bar, no matter what site or version they download, the forum links go right to my forum!

The search box is a pay per click search too, and I get 25% of that revenue .

Well, what I do is use a different browser. I recently upgraded to Firefox. It's a great browser. Integrated google search(you can additional search engines if you so desire), built in pop-up blocker, simply start typing the word to search the page(can be set up to search just the links or all text), and tabbed browsing(I love this one, I can be on 10 sites at once and still only have one window open).

There are only 2 real problems. Installing pluggins can sometimes be a little kludgey. Once they are installed, they work great, but getting them to regonize can sometimes be a pain(they actually all went in pretty smoothly this time).
The other issue I sometimes(its been months) run into is, sites telling me they don't like my browser and they're not going to show me the page unless I use IE. This is particularly infuriating when I watch the page load perfectly, then the browser check kicks in and directs me to thier refusal site.

But, yeah, generally, I avoid IE like the plague.

I use mozilla and IE about 50% of the time respectively. IE moreso now, because of my toolbar. I have to say it's a pretty useful little gadget, for my industry.

Is it for nursing only? I went to the site and it appears that's all you can use it for.

that's all you can use mine for. I was suggesting that you get one made for your site and include your links and the stuff that you offer.

Then, when people download it, there's a direct link to your site in their browser all the time.

.

Would be a really good idea for threads to have, I think.

[:"blue"]hiya Sassie!

You're using MSN IE?? Yikes shhhhh, they're listening! I have IE still and only use it if I have too. Plus IE came out with a new Pop-up Guard for stopping some Annoying pop ups, Not all of them though.

I use Opera Software 7.23 and it also comes with s great pop-up stopper. Sometimes, I have to disable the pop-stopper just to get the windows I do want to open at some UBB sites. Really, it doesn't bother me, I like having the option to be able to choose if I want the pop-ups or not.

Opera is at the Link below;

Opera 7.23 Software, it's Free!

There are other's like Mozilla. I didn't really care for Mozilla, to me it's too much like IE, whoops, that word again. You can try them both, I Prefer Opera 7.23 instead.

Mozilla link, Ack!

Mozilla Link

As far as ineternet browsers go. I prefer Opera Software, but then again that's only IMHO!

Take Care, Get the Pop-up Out!

downloaded Opera. I like it, quite a bit actually, but I'm not too fond of this left hand crap....regardless of how small I can make it--still trying to figure out if/how I can get rid of it.

I only recently started using it but I have found it has several neat features (skins too). I really like the Tools/ShowPageInfo panel it offers as well as the direct link to their Mozine help section. Let me know what you think Kristi Ann

KristiAnn, instead of opening new windows you open a new tab.

OOOOoo Thank you very much J.C! It's way to early in the morning for me to read it right now. I'll save it and read when I am awake. Happy St. Patricks Day J.C.!
