Wondering if anyone is working on or knows of a guestbook app that integrates with the forum member db? Maybe even styles. I need to practice my php and a client is asking for a guestbook to replace his Matt's Guestbook (circa 1995)

I still have a copy off the UBBGuestbook on my computer...I know that doesn't answer your question but I liked it.

I have a guestbook I developed for www.realmhq.com some time ago; it doesn't utilize the ubb member database but wouldn't a guestbook be for guests? mainly, why would it need to access the forum db if it's for drive by posts...

I think stylesheet/header/footer and capcha integration plus the scrubbing of form input are several of the desired qualities.

Well, that stuff should be easy enough to introduce, i mean, heck, if you wanted you could literally integrate it into your board lol...
Not sure how the UBB handles captcha thouh, nor am I sure how to really tie into the MySQL handler (at the presant time) but would all be possibl...
Myself on mine I use freecap to handle that, i'd recommend doing the eternal pages addon so it uses the board look, then just doing your own mysql handling/captcha

Can't you just fiddle this into ubb itselve?
Copy the newtopic code+template, change it to look like a guestbook entry form, allow anonymous posts and voila. You have your guestbook as forumdata.
You could simply build something around it to display it.
You'd have to hide that forum somehow, If you have a subforum that is the child of a forum you don't have access too, it is not showed in the main forum overview.

I gave thought to it, and did a little fiddling, but honestly RL got in the way and I've been busy with that for the last couple weeks...
