I be mod in a large forum who running a other script. We have trouble with some user who edit theyr posting to junk and then leave the forum. We have the edit timer to unlimited to allow the maintenace of some important threads.
To avoid the scrap we found a wikki like history function plugin for this script. Every user change to a posting will stored internal and the mod/admin have an option to review the changes. They are able to rollback the posting to it former state. This help us a lot to prevent junk.

It's simply the admin's fault for leaving an unlimited timer IMO; we've had this happen with several users in the past, and simply set the timer to a few minutes (30); but in your case, you could likely just set it up for a day or so... You'd think if they had something valuable to add that they'd have done it by then...

we have big discussions. The edit timer was not a solution. Many user was upset not be able to edit theyr threads to maintain the informations. With this rollback option we have a nice solution and every one is happy again. We dont need to set up several mods to allow edit of threads.
