We have pre-moderator edits on the schedule to implement.
After X time, an edit of a post is possible, but only if approved by a mod/admin. It makes sort of an "edited messages"-approval queue.
I am going to make it, but if there is a demand here for such a feature, I'll program it a bit more cleaner/generic for sharing purposes. Otherwise, I'll just plunge it in just for me.

Users, their own messages. Just after set time an edit has to be approved by mod/admin.

So if you have edit time set to 5 hours... and someone comes along and wants to edit their post after the 5 hours... they submit the edit, and if it approved by a member of staff, then the edit is put through?

It was slated for our forum, but looks like we are going to skip it and do something else.
