Users who have not visited in more than 5 years have had their signature and homepage fields cleared out today; the reasoning is that a large portion of the URLs being linked to in these where to sites that no longer exist, which in some cases where now adult related or resulted in ad pages at generic link farms.

Additionally, all offsite avatars have been cleared as well, as a large portion no longer existed. If you where using a remote avatar, which was cleared, please update your avatar.

Even if reference url's are broken.

I simply cleared the URL and Remote Avatars out for members who haven't visited in 5 years, if they do visit they're more than welcome to add in their URL... Linking to porn link hubs isn't really too professional in my opinion.

I'm also pretty curious what type of "valuable user interaction" that could be noted from external URLs that people had 5 years ago...

Wasn't that about the same time as the last UBB upgrade?

Sorry -- Couldn't help myself. It is one of the saddest events in my life that we were promised upgrades that never materialized. Really sad.

In spite of that, I'm still looking forward to the future... hopefully not during the summertime, though. Got too much to do then. It could be a good Fall/Winter, however. Thanks to the guys that are stepping up to the plate. There's a silent minority of us who are eagerly looking forward to your release(s). :-)

We released an upgrade to Brooks in January, the code here has been upgraded via snapshots from the private dev site at least 10-15 times so far...

And yeah, I know how everyone feels with the lack of upgrades over the years; but a key thing to keep in mind is that the people making upgrades currently (id242 and I) started this BECAUSE of that...

Everyone should have a final release here before summer; in fact, the local beta group (Ruben and SteveS thus far) has been given access to the same snapshots that we've upgraded to here at UBBDev.

Kudos to everyone!! Any chance that we could donate to your kid's college fund? We really do appreciate all of the hard work. :-)

We're shooting for a "summer" date for something UBB.threads related to happen -- And Hopefully everything goes as planned!
