Closed forum message does not appear

In the Control Panel there is a field titled Closed Message. In the text box, I have:
Quote
The Stovebolt Forums are currently closed for maintenance.

Thank you for your support and your patience.
But, when I close the forum, the message displayed at the top of the page is
Quote
The forums are currently closed
This needs to be fixed.

What you are looking at is the closed announcement language that is only displayed to the admins/moderators who have access to your forums when they are closed.

As a guest, what you see is the Closed Message along with option for admin/mod to login. The text you configure in the control panel allows you to add more detail to your regular users about why they are not allowed to login at this time.
