Here's a challenge: I wanna see if you guy's can come up with a logo for my site. It has to be awesome though. And not TOO big in size. Here's a link to my site: CBB If anyone feels uncomfortable about doing one for a religious site, no biggy. I juts wanna see how good you guys really are in the graphics dept. Our current main page is boring, and it was just a temp page anyway, but I'm looking for something that will look awesome on a black background and maintain our color scheme.

I think you need to mention if you are paying or not. Most here are trying to make a living too..[Linked Image]

Understandable, but alien didn't mention paying....hmmmm

I don't even know what to charge. I'm only asking for one logo in which I ask that the creator put his/her isignia on so they get credit and they will be mentioned in our news and given our award for special contribution. However, if money is the issue, that MAY be arranged.

I hope you don't mind if an atheist like me trys a hand at this, do ya? I actually tried to charge people for graphics for awhile, but most of them looked at me like I turned purple or something, so that idea kinda fell out the window.

I'll try to whip you up one tomorrow if I get some time and can remember it. You might send me an email tomorrow to remind me ( jamin@jaminnet.com ) cuz i have about the memory capacity of a rock. [Linked Image] Tell me some ideas you want, like color scheme and any effects, and I'll try my best.

hehe..not really...black backgrounds and bright colors really stand out well and I love our color scheme. Colors don't make your beliefs. [Linked Image]

Skorpion, I would love if you would give it a shot. I appreciate anyone to try. I'm not too gifted in the arts/graphics department. I'm more of a math/computer geek. [Linked Image]

kingpin: maybe i'll give it a go-go... you want like crosses and other biblical stuff like that in the image? and should i use some sort of airy flowing script font for the text?

basically: does it have to be very "church"-looking, or can it also be modern and cool?

I'd prefer something modern and cool. I am leaving this up to you guys...I trust your judgement. I'm not one to think less of anyone because they don't share my beliefs. I like you guys and I think you do AWESOME work. So i thought I would ask. Thanks for helping me out...I really appreciate it.

I'm getting there. Had a few ideas, but they didn't work out very well. I've got some other things that I want to try out tonight, and I'll send you one as soon as I get finished and am satisfied with it.

hey squage, are you using photoshop for those? if so, is there a filter to do the horizontal line effect (as seen in the shadow part of your first graphic). I used to know how to do it but I've forgotten .... [Linked Image]

it's photoshop 5.5. i don't use filters...just because i never really needed to. anyways, the effect is scanlines. my way is to make a 2x2 pixel image. fill one half of the image in black, and the other white.

goto edit>>select all. then edit>>define pattern. then you make a new image, a new layer, and use the paint bucket fill to color in the layer. set the layer opacity to about 25-35%, and you'll be good to go!
