i just had an idea...**thinking** what IF some of us formed a small group to specifically be the graphics "experts" here at UBBDev? one person could do buttons, another folders, and another headers. we could fill requests for people in no time!

plus, since we'd only be concentrating on one area, the quality would probably be better.

any takers?

yeah, but if the work is going out for free, then a definite huge staff would be needed. Just imagine all the requests you would get, it would probably become almost like a full-time job if we didn't have a big enough staff to do this all....

Right now, I dont know if Clan and I are gonna go and do for people, but I do the buttons and he does folders at the moment in our little duo. Lets see if he want to do this. I have no clue tho.

Suggestion for ya.... Why don't you continue to make generic things for ubbdev and go from there. You're all getting free advertising with the link in exchange for your work right? Sooooo... eventually perhaps you could make a few bucks on the side doing custom work.

I'm not going to be presumptuous and act like you even want me in on this, since you probably don't. But one thing I can suggest for this little alliance thing is have two options, just like Infopop does.

If they want it free, you could either A) make them have a graphics copyright in their page, with a link to your site, or B) actually have something like "Graphics by BUSINESS NAME; 'http:// www.yourbusinessaddress.com'" in Small Fonts or something, and maybe like 50% transparent, at the bottom of the image you make.

Or, if they want to remove the otherwise mandatory byline, they can pay to have graphics made for them without the embedded or required byline.

Just something to think about.

Good idea Skorpion, that would give people a choice and you would still get you web site url on the images if they don't want to pay.

And if you need any help I would be glad to assist

..hehe when i learn im gonna do stuff like that...

If you'll have me, I'm definitely interested. If ya think I'm good enough. I'm working on Kingpin's graphic right now, and as soon as I'm done with that, I have a few ideas for some generic UBB title graphics and buttons and stuff. So I'll be posting them later tonight.

Are we all gonna have something in our sigs that says we're part of this alliance? (Maybe one of us can make a little graphic for it? ) Do we have a name or anything?

i'll think about all this over the weekend...right now i'm busy doing other gfx for ppl

the name, logo, etc. will all come easy.

and membership won't be exclusive either. the idea is simple - a large team of people who like to make graphics in their spare time.
