Hey Anonymous,
logon.cgi has no keep username and password by Cookie
I want:
1. add register link on Logon.cgi
2. add Keep Cookie for logon.cgi
3. I dont want redirect without Security link

Anonymous good try but logon.cgi is plain. u need more security link from ultimate because ppl will give their friend url without register [Linked Image] thats why. I hate REDIRECT
[Linked Image] Thank you [Linked Image]

Hmmm, that's version 1.1 not 2.0, so it's not full version!!!

Tomorrow, i am going to combine my Logon System with the UBB, so that after you logon, you don't ever have to type your username or password to post or to do anything else. Just like the OpenTopic!!!

well, you can turn it off/on in the script.

umm, how turn on for cookie with user/pass?
because i did register with keep cookie like "Store Username & Password in browser memory for 1 year (otherwise you will have to type your username and password once per browser session)"...logon.cgi 1.1 did not store user/pass for cookie. [Linked Image]
Ppl enter logon.cgi BUT they want new register link so logon.cgi is not there. [Linked Image]

Looks good.

As asked for the first version, how do you protect the page(s) you are putting behind logon.cgi so people can't go directly to those pages? Can you put the same codes as discussed in the thread for the first version?

What if you are trying to protect another cgi file, do you integrate logon.cgi and your other cgi file? If so, can you give me some details on how to do that.

Thanks

Yes, I definitely agree with erac. If someone tries to load the Ultimate.cgi, WhoIs.cgi, etc scripts and is not logged in through this system (in that someone just shared the URL with them directly), it should force them back to the login screen. That would be the kind of security that I'm seeking.

Thanks for your work on this so far Anonymous! I'm definitely following these threads and looking forward to the coming versions. [Linked Image]

just have it store the users name and password in a cookie. then add a little sub into the other pages that checks and reads the cookie. if there isn't a cookie, or if the cookie has the wrong password, it sends them back to the login page.

i don't understand...
1.0 never works... always 500 error
1.1 works but not complete...(register|faq|forgot your password) and not secure
1.2 is complete and looks better (on your test page) because on my webpage it don't work... error 500
[Linked Image]

I tried everything and it still don't working... i put back the 1.1 and it works... put back again the 1.2 and it won't works...
can you help me please?

another thing: wath i have to put in the PROTECTED_PAGE? the url of my Ultimate.cgi?
like this? www.mypage.net/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi
and why the logon page don't get the cookie? i have to type my name and my pass by myself each time...???
it is passible to link directly to the Ultimate.cgi and there to link to the logon.cgi and after to return to Ultimate.cgi? do you understand? i know a board who made it... i tried and it don't works...i did something wrong becasue i'm in a loop...
Ultimate.cgi take me to logon.cgi, logon.cgi take me back to Ultimate.cgi but there i'm suppose to access the board but i'm going back to logon.cgi again...
this is the line i have added to ultimate.cgi right after the &ReadParse;

&get_cookie;

if ((($cookie{UserCheck} ne "yes") && ($in{'action'} eq "intro")) | | (($cookie{UserCheck} ne "yes") && (@in == 0))) {
print "Location: $CGIURL/logon.cginn";
exit;
}
the guy who give me this part of scritp use it with the first logon.cgi...

thanks for your help...
btw... that's what i see when i log on your test page.

Eon--

Sounds good to me but I think I'm too new to all of this to attempt that. I guess I'll be anxiously awaiting version 1.3 which perhaps will incorporate it. Go Anonymous! [Linked Image]
