[ POSTED ON SCRIPTKEEPER.COM ] Hi everyone , I've done the third version of the Non-SSI hits counter script , it is now much better , and has the following features: 1. Complete private forums support ( Previous versions were showing the Max. private forum secret code ) 2. ON/OFF Support from the control panel 3. Supports the new multipage code by InfoPop Co. 4. The notifing email now is fully supported by the script ( Views the postdisplay.cgi script URL instead of the regualer URL ). Hop you enjoy it! WEAPON , The new script uses an entirely new way of storing counting files . So you've to remove the old code completely and start again.
CT , I'll give you the link as soon I get my BB finished in a day or two.

No, I don't think this will prevent the script from running, anyway try to restore the $FolderLine and see the results.

I have added it to my board. Now I am going to see how it reacts this version to a large site with lots of page views. Before it really added to server load and I anxious to see how this version will work out.

I'm having trouble installing this hack. Everything seems fine after I upload them, I see the column for views, but when I click on a thread I get the 500 Internal Server Error
Any reasons why?

Help! I installed this hack and lost one of my hacks. I had the "Last Posted By" feature turned on and now the hyperlink is gone. It just says, By: The counter works great, but how did I lose the "Last Posted By" Hack? Here's my forum: www.nsxsc.com/bios Thanks, Bill

Hmmm, I dying to get this working but I have screwed up along the way. No posts are showing up and the colums are off. Here is my UBB..... http://wheelspin.net/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro I think I screwed this forumdisplay..... [admin edit]you cannot post a full ubb file online, it is definitely against licensing and could get you some serious trouble[/admin edit] [ February 03, 2001: Message edited by: wheelspin ] [ February 03, 2001: Message edited by: AllenAyres ]

Hello wheelspin... you have a few things obviously wrong in forumdisplay... and probably postings.cgi as well. You might want to try it again... as it is an install error. You've got column names switched, the links to the threads don't work, etc...

Hmm this is odd and possibly the main problem. I even went to the original forumdisplay.cgi and it does not have this part... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $extrapages .= ($PrivateMax eq 'yes') ? qq( $_ ) : qq( $_ ); ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You are not running Version 5.47x . This hack requires that version exactly.

If you have Dave's Who is online hack , then skip the steps about $ExtraInfo ... It's already built in.

Hmmm, I ran into something odd. Everything is working properly but when I go to update my threads I get an "Internal Server Error".
Any Idea what may have caused that??
Sorry for the spam. I found 1 incorrect charecter in my postings.cgi which was giving me an IS-Error when I would update my threads.

I am running this hack on a WIn2k OS, and the UBB version is 5.47d. At first this hack works fine, but today it's all mess up!! When I try to view a thread, I always get this message:
CGI Error The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:
Undefined subroutine &main::check_input called at C:Inetpubrenetcgi-binpostdisplay.cgi line 56.
Can anyone please tell me what's wrong??

JB007: I don't think I understand what you mean by "past ...". If you mean "Did I modified the ubb_library.pl as you instructed?", I think I did. It all started when I tried to add the "Attachment File Manager v1.6" and failed to do the hack. After failing to do so, I changed the modified cgi files back to the old ones without the "AFM v1.6" hack, and things started to go wrong. It's strange that the other UBB board that I set up on the same win2k server is affected also, even though I didn't do anything on that board. I got the same error message from the other board. It's really strange...

Sorry, it's a typo [ paste ] Anyway, open postdisplay.cgi , find the 3 require() statements, put your complete path just befor each file , for example: require "UltBB.setup"; becomes require "C:/Inetpub/renet/cgi-bin/UltBB.setup"; I think this is your problem.

JB007:
O.K., I just fixed the problem, but in a quite stupid way: I reuploaded all the cgi & pl files, and did the upgrade steps from the control panel, and it worked!!! That means I still don't know what went wrong, but at least my UBB is working now. Thanx for your kindness to answer my stupid question, and your hit counter v3.0 is working great on my UBB 5.47d now!!!

Hi, I do exactly what you expalin to do in the .txt file but I was not able to find this code in my forumdisplay.cgi: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $extrapages .= ($PrivateMax eq 'yes') ? qq( $_ ) : qq( $_ ); --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I do all the other things but nothing changed on my board At the end of your txt file you say: "- Head to your control and enable your counter ( You can disable it later )." What do you mean ? There isn't anything new in my control panel ! Thank you very much Rutto

I've got the hits counter installed, but, have noticed a problem with how it works.
In the General Settings for UBB (I'm using 5.47c, by the way), I have "Maximum Number of Posts Displayed Per Topic (HTML) Page" set to 15 Posts. Once a thread reaches 16 posts and is broken into 2 pages, the thread count is reset to Zero again.
How can I maintain thread counts once the topic is paginated??
Thanks.

Why are you keep on referring to ubbhackers? You make our mouth water over the hacks, then the links don't work. There are plenty of them like this.

Same problems here. We need multi-page support in this hack, please!
Anyone up to the challenge?
