Found a bug: When you send a PM, the signature converts the UBB codes fine. But after the person replies, the UBB codes doesn't convert. ------------------

thermit...that not showing outbox thing... changing it to the ne, like you did, just avoids the issue. The problem is an error setting that variable to one of the other two things... ------------------

It seems to work ok here GoTo, at least when I send one to myself and reply... do you see something different? Are you using the same code as here? DT, what have you found to fix the outbox problem? ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

What I mean is how do I make the Email notification On from the start, and if my guests don't want notification they've got to turn it of, not the other way around! I tried your solution but it didn't work! I also tried to update to the latest files, but I just got a 500 error, last time I updated was the 24 Dec.

Nice looking site anderzzo... Be sure and upload all the files from the latest update. You are getting an error because of capitalization errors... the subs htmlify and unhtlmify were lower case in private.pl, but since we are now calling them from ubb_library.pl, it has to be capitalized &HTLMIFY and &UNHTMLIFY These are all fixed in the new files. I forgot you are translating to dutch. I would recommend using Beyond Compare to update your files so you are sure to get all the changes, some are small and could be missed with most file compare programs. ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

Ok, I found several bugs. One I've fixed (very very minor): 1: If you'll notice, up there, it states '$N onCGIURL" at the email_2.gif variable, well that's causing some problems. Take out the extra space. I told you it was minor. 2: My log file excerpt. I can't track down where exactly this is happening in the code. It appears several places in the various private*.cgi files. It's putting the date in place of the $icon variable (I think) ... Not a critical error, no one has complained about it yet... but my log file screams at me ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/smile.gif) ------------------ A crust of bread is better than nothing. is anyone using UBB on prohosting? (free)
im still getting a problem with be able to login. i put me login name and password it then goes to You are now entering your private messages, Please wait while we create the new page ... then goes back to login, I can send messages from peoples posts on the forum and it goes into the private folder but just wont login
Im thinking it might be prohosting, but I cant see why. I have used the latest update and have completly reinstalled ubb without any other hacks but it still has this problem.

Try these- 1. clear your cookies through the ubb If that doesnt work... 2. clear your cookies manually using your browser If that doesn't work... 3. Try installing UBB IM's. ------------------

Bug in PM?
I don't know if this is a bug. I have PM 3.8 installed and running, with HTML off. Whenever I send to multiple recipients, the first recipient gets the correct message but all the rest are getting the message with HTML codes in it.
However, when HTML is on, this does not happen.
Any clues?

I found 2 rather weird instances: In the "Compose a Private Message" screen it says [IMG] UBB Code Not Allowed! under *HTML is OFF *UBB Code is ON even though the image tag is? I also found a variable called $MrBigglesworth in privatesend.cgi which I thought was funny lol ------------------ This message has been edited by GoTorankusuKu on January 04, 2001 at 12:45 AM

I have gotten familiar with MrBigglesworth myself GoTo... ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif) The coding in this is kinda odd, we may need to check it out a little more closely: This message didn't appear before because older versions (before yesterday ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif) ) were still using $PMUBBImages = "yes"; instead of "on"... now that the wording is correct, this pops up now... It seems to me if ubbimages are on and ubbcode is allowed, then the [img] tag should be allowed... is that what you are reading? If one or the other are set to :no" or "off", then the imgbutton should be set to "isnot", but not when they both are allowed... ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

this is weird, I was having problems installing this hack, in that it kept going back to the login screen. I reinstalled everything and still would not work ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/confused.gif) I was using prohosting, and decided to try hypermart and guess what it Worked ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif) so it I was right in thinking that is was prohosting messing it up, so if anyone is using prohosting and having the same prob, try hypermart. im just glad it works ok now, but weird how it wont work on a certain server. thanks for everyone that replied to my cry's of help

Allen, I downloaded the latest PM files and uploaded them to my site. With HTML Allow set to "no", I'm still having problems with html codes showing up in the messages received by multiple recipients. ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/frown.gif)

Allen-try changing that code to the following: (I don't have access to the pm files so I cannot verify whether it should be yes/no, is/isnot, etc.0 Edit-had to fix it some, I'll clean it up more tonight when my head's on straight ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif) . ------------------ This message has been edited by Dark Templar on January 04, 2001 at 02:24 PM

That seems to have fixed it DT, muchas gracias... I'll update the download tonight... Does anyone know where the process that sends the CC: pm is controlled? I really don't see it... I would like to get that duplicate .sig cleaned up and move this to 4.0 and to the finished forum this weekend as well... Any other bugs we need to look at first? ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

Glad it worked. Simple perl coding error, it previously would tell you the image code wasn't allowed if ubb code was on and ubb images were on, just had to change that to if ubb code was on and ubb images weren't ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif) . I can clean it up a bit more later, so it doesn't have to check so much stuff. ------------------

Thanks to Borg, I have found the section of code that prints the signature in the messages. He suggested a fix, but it isn't quite there yet, as the code is a little different. I plan to work on it myself, but if you guys that are better at writing/ bugfixing code would like to give it a shot I would appreciate it. It's in privatesend.cgi: Borg's suggestion was: a little different, but workable, most likely... ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

Code cleaned up a bit more... built &rattler sub in private.pl and removed the redundant coding in the rest of the files.... One major/minor bug is left... the "checkall/uncheckall" still doesn't work in Netscape... Coding in alpha/beta 4 cleaned up as well... privateadmin.cgi now writes the private.setup file correctly and pm's reads the settings. The only minor thing is that is doen't "remember" your current selections... should be ready for "finished" forum soon... ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

The check/uncheck all here (UBBDev only) in IE gives me an error so I'd check on that first ![[Linked Image]](https://ubbdev.com/ubb/smilies/wink.gif) BTW, there is something wrong with the privatedelete.cgi. I can't seem to delete my PM's ------------------

Is it still doing that? I was trying our some suggested changes earlier, but have put back up what has worked for IE at least... Delete works fine for me too... I had been working on the files earlier, maybe that is what you are referring to. ------------------ Allen - http://www.stand318.com

I see where the problem is When I use the delete checked items button to kill my PM's, they don't get deleted. But if I delete using the button inside the PM itself, it works. This sounds like a bug. ------------------
