Where does the script get added in Ultimate cgi I tryed adding the same thing that Iadded to fourmsdisplay but some of the places I am supost to change dont exsist

just a question...probaly a dumb one...but..
why is this icon not set up like the others...
IE: $ThisAIM $SendPrivate $ThisYID $ThisICQ
why cant there just be a simple $ThisUBBIM or something in there set up just like the others...does it REALLY matter if its written this way... ( not like im smart enough to change the code to do it but still )...those icons work in both IE and netscape no problems...no wondering where the code goes...

Allen, I have the problems with refreshing on Ultimate.cgi when the popups come solved.
It works so good as on forumisplay.cgi here at UBBdev

It was the IMG SRC tag whit onLoad in it, this was cousing to refresh all images on the Ultimate.cgi let me know if you want the code...

Its almost same as the others but this one works with the PM sound notification together and it loads in the orginal body tag in Ultimate.cgi,
And the reason i asked before i post is that i dont want get confusion for the other guys

This hack is working great on my board.
Now if I can get it to pop up without refreshing or get it to autorefresh Ill have everything except in my threads
This is a great hack its already doing what its supost to do.

Allen did you get your securitys to work on your control panel
One more thing are you going to add that autoclose hack to this too. IT works great.

Hi Speed. There's a hack written by Turbanator that will add meta tags in the forumdisplay.cgi and ultimate.cgi so they refresh every 90 seconds (you can change those intervals). I'm wondering if this hack could be implemented with ubbIM. If someone would like "AUTO-REFRESH FEATURE HACK" PM me and I'll send it to you.

anyone have problems installing on 5.47d? I attempted to install this mod 4 times. the 3rd and 4th time I tested the functionality of the board after each file was modded. As soon as I mod the postings.cgi and then try to post.. i get a white page.

Ultra Girl thanks for the hack I was looking at it. I think Ill wait and see if someone comes up with a way for the pop ups to come up without refreshing or changing pages.
I know in my whos online that refresh gets agravating. Theres got to be a way to get that pop up to come up by its self. This is where I wish I new more.

I got it working.
The imcheck in 5 seconds without refreshing wholepage.
And it was so easy, i was all the time bussy with javascripts but it wasnt nececary.

It works perfectly on IE and NS6 but it doesnt work on NS4+ and older

Lets wait till my users test it and i'll let you know soon

i realy don't know what's wrong with that hack... but one thing i'm sure, like i said in one of my post, if i don't have who's online installed, i don't have a white page in forumdisplay.cgi. but i've never checked if the popup was ok... i delete all my file i reup ubb without hack. i was thinking that the problem was who's online cause before i install that hack everyting was ok... i start with who's online hack, some other, everything's ok... install UBBIM, got a white page... and if i make your change to Ultimate.cgi i also got a white page...

Are there plans to update the db with all the latest fixes so a user like myself can go through and elminate a possibility of witnessing one of the bugs that's talked about here? So far everything seems to be working, but I would like to compare my installation with that of all the fixes and see if there's anything i got..PLUS the new features added to it would be sweet.

I seems to have a problem with the IM. I use your reply button you made Spawn. When i get several new IM's and trying to reply to user A it sometimes replys to user B. This dont happen when i reply by pressing on the username. Any ideas?

I'm not an expert on pearl but it wouldn't
be that hard to do! In my forum I tried to
send a IM to my self, then I went in to my
PM Inbox and read it, and now it don't show
up when I "move" around in the forum!

So all thats have to be done is in
privateview, make it mark the IM as read
when you've read it in the popup, that's all!

But how, don't ask me I can't program pearl!

And that code i posted is good check it again when you install.

Odviesly I must not have an error in my hack I get The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:


syntax error at d:inetpubscriptscgi-binUltimate.cgi line 1026, near ")"
syntax error at d:inetpubscriptscgi-binUltimate.cgi line 1032, near "else"
Execution of d:inetpubscriptscgi-binUltimate.cgi aborted due to compilation errors.
I have a errond to run Ill find out what I need to do when I get back. I know I seen somewhere how to do that

Hmmm, sorry to hear that but you need SSI to let work the auto refresh on IM checks.

But did you remove old imcheck rotines?

Ok got it working sort of. I can see the curser blink every 30 seconds but the pop up dont come up unless I manually refresh F5
Any Ideas.

Could someone have a look at this?

Ok imcheck is installed it has to be working because in Ultimate cgi the curser will flash every 30 seconds. Pop up windows will still only come up if you f5 refresh or change pages.
Fourmsdisplay dont refresh. Is there something to change in fourmsdisplay to get these things to pop up automaticly.
Any Ideas?????

speed i was on your board but your SSI call in the imcheck html doesnt work, this refresh thing i give you was only for Ultimate.cgi i didnt make one for forumdisplay.cgi but that is not so big deal try your SSI to let work

You got still your old IMcheck routine in your Ultimate.cgi, thats why you get the first message but you should remove that, and put a 1*1pixel image in your noncgi directory.

There is two imchek routines in that hack for ult cgi one goes to PMon and the other goes to pmoff I noticed on your board you dont have either. I am not sure how I got the one in the search routine must have been early this morning. Now all I have to do is hit the books and find out what your talking about 1*1pixle image (does this image get put in the imcheck.html) Or name it what?

No its already in imcheck.cgi but you dont have a 1X1 pixel image in your noncgi directory and its not loading.

You know how to make 1X1pixel transparrant image right?

I am in over my head here Im trying to use logic. I am sure you know what your talking about. actually Im lost. Let me see if I understand make a 1x1 tranparent image call it what and put it where. Now you know the level of my confusion. You already know that my imcheck.cgi is in my cgi-bin and my imcheck.html is in my root dir. but I am lost.????? First your SSI doesnt work, thus you have to fix that. Thats most important if you want auto checkin will let work.

OK I have learned a whole bunch from this hack I know it will work If I can can map the html to ssi I just did it wrong and it locked me off the board but the im windows poped up on the desk top. All I need to know Is at server map In application settings what do I map html to in win 2000 server I tried D:WINNTSystem32inetsrvssinc.dll Which worked for popup but wouldnt let me get on the board. That is already maped to shtml

To make the javascript look for new IMs every 30 seconds why not put it in a tiny little iframe with no border and have that refresh every so often?

Spawn could you take a look at my board again. I have got ssi working. If I view source after going to http://www.esteroumc.com/imcheck.html
I can see the script that I entered for the hack in the ultimate cgi. But still they dont auto pop up.
