for whatever reason, i've had this hack for quite some time (dunno how or why).

and, if this is, in fact, the same one i've had, then, no, it does not fix or address that error (as you've noticed you received that error the other day, before i changed it.)

cal wrote the original for ubbmisc.cgi... this is an update, as the first one had nothing to do with general settings..

Nice one I have the old one going to add this one CP is better than editing the whole cgi file thanks

the one i use has a general setting display, as well. the text next to the empty field reads, "Private Auto Send Message to New Register You can insert your own Welcome message. Let this message Auto send Welcome PM to new register User"

My welcome message is several lines long with no instances of problems to date.. is there something I should be aware of?

the problem only arrises, i believe, if there is an actual line break. like, if you ever hit return/enter. otherwise, again i believe, it can be as many lines as you want. as long as no lines are skipped (like in my response, here)

I think it is all on one line though, but it would still be good to have it removed for safety sake.

Writing the control panel addon, i *think* this version fixes that bug (which was sent to me in my email yesterday morning). If it doesnt let me know.

This doesn't seem to be in the database, or on the h-Realm server anymore...

Since nobody is replying... I have the original way, prior to MM's MOD. Not sure who did the original but here ya go.

Thanks BB... I missed this thread... the original is by cal, and works well, just make sure you keep your message all on one line...

I no longer support version 5.x hacks. i might redo it.

Would you mind? I just got back into UBB hacking after taking a 6 month break only to find ubbcodehacking.com finally dead, ubbhackers.com offline and most of the 5.4x links broken and unuseable. 6.0x hasn't been around very long, doesn't have many hacks written for it and doesn't run any faster on my server so I'll be staying with 5.47e for a while.
