Ghoste, i did this with a second online.cgi with SSI output, but there was a problem to show users on the home page, becouse it doesnt show the user name you get Guest #1 instead of the user name on the home page.

Is there a way to see the users on home page with their name?

This is an ADDITION to Dave's Who's online hack. What this mod does is make a special formatted section to put on your main page so it looks nice. This WILL grab the name of the person that is on the main page, as long as they are logged in to the ubb and/or have the cookies from a recent login.

This is version 1.0 because soon features will arrive such as:

1) Setting the number of names that show up
2) Um...more to come!

Nice looking site... did you submit it this month?

I am looking forward to the next version of this. Does it display the member's name when a member is online, I only saw Guest#1, Guest#2, etc...

Thanks Allen and Sal for the Website Compliments. (MM there is no CHMODing needed , otherwise I dont know what your doing wrong) -- Yes , Allen , it does display if a Member is online , it also links that member to his/her profile.

...And again , thanks for the compliments and will have a new version for ya soon.

Here's what MM's problem was:

The .cgi file is in IBM format, and he has a UNIX server. Since 2+2=4, you can tell that it needed to be switched to UNIX. I sent him a copy in UNIX format, and it worked.

What you need to do, Ghoste, is upload homeonline.cgi to one of your servers as a homeonline.txt; have users download that, and rename it homeonline.cgi. That should fix the problem.

he removed the cookie lib check for versions below 5.44. That shouldn't have caused any errors.

HTML codes at the top? There is no HTML coding except for what it displays. In case you are trying to run the script without using SSI, you aren't supposed to just run the script, you have to use SSI.
