Question:
When it pops up, can the user close and get messages later, or...will the box keep popping up ad nauseum as they browse the forums?

2Exstatica, thanks for providing us your pmc-test-account but - well - no dialog box appears on your site, using ie5.0 and netscape4.7; well, i'm not really a newbie so i'm asking myself about any missing javascript-tags or lil' bugs in your script... chris http://technoforum.de

2Exstatica, well - I checked your script and there's a bug: even if u have new messages the pmpop-Tag includes a blank line. Well, I don't like bugfixing without asking the author of the origin.script, so I did make my own thing which uses the original pm-check-script on ultimate.cgi. I'm also using a completely different Jscript-PopUp I coded. The main difference is that you don't see HOW many new messages you got, you get just a note THAT one ore more new privateMessages are waiting for you. The script works 100% and if u guys out there want me to document it, just let me know, it's the first mod I've ever done, based on Exstaticas idea... Here you'll find the complete and documented mod: http://technoforum.de/mod/pmcnotification.TXT have phun, chris http://technoforum.de This message has been edited by technoforum.de on October 06, 2000 at 08:53 AM

Techno emailed me that he/she would be including his version into active.cgi.
I like this version better.
Where do i need to put the code for this version into active.cgi?

This stopped working for no reason.
I was messing with PM 3.0, but I put all the previous 2.0 files back.
I doublechecked forumdisplay.cgi, and it checks out perfectly.
????

OK,
I checked back on changes made.
The PM Notify stopped working after installing the PM Ban addon and UBB Code fix.
(Pre PM 3.0)
No changes were made to forumdisplay.cgi since, so the problem lies most likely in the code changes made in the Ban addon.
Help please!
