I am very new to UBB, my 3rd day but I have come up with my first little hack. Since I have had the pleasure of installing so many other peoples hacks I wanted to contribute. Unfortunately I do not have a tut for this because I am way to busy trying to get our new site online, so you will have to use my idea and configure it for yourself (Unless everyone wants it that badly I may take the time to make one).

So now to the hack. I always have people asking what it takes to get 3 stars or whatever, so I made a hack that links the stars and the amount of posts to a popup window that shows a star legend and the amount of posts it takes to get there. I also linked the name to the user profile.

This is running on 5.45c and the board is being beta tested for work. Check It Out Here

that's a simple code to make. it's just a matter of adding a link code to the stars in the original stars hack or Stars Hack 2000

Share the exact code. I tried, and failed.

This is an HTML File, I think what he just did is link the stars to this HTML file, joor please correct me if I am wrong.

Slick that is exactly what I did, I made the legend from scratch. I wish I could code a dymic legend like the smilies . Dawg you are correct as well, I just edited your star 2000 hack (thx for the colorful stars and documenting it).

This is a very simple hack, just a matter of adding links. MasterMind, I think you were trying to make it overly complicated. I made a snippet of the code to a txt file because it was to large with all the alt tags and img src's. I am sure you will get it when you see this. star_legend.txt

Thx chicken, I wish I knew perl but all I can do is modify the html elements. Still, there is a lot to be done in that department. If anyone elses uses this I would love to see it action.

correct me if I am wrong, but I noticed the code you used in your A tag to open the window is Dreamweaver code - it calls for the MM_OpenBrWindow function, but you do not have the JS script listed - would you mind throwing that in and explaining where you put it?

Dawg911, No problem. Done, wasn't sure what the correct way to set an addition up. It is upadeted on the current link.
