What this script does:
This script stores the total number of active topics and total posts made everyday into a file. This mod is executed when the old dailyindex file is deleted and a new one is created. The stand-alone script is simply a way of viewing the results from the web. It puts all the data in a table with the date, active topics, and total posts along with a little graph similar to my member graph script. Thanks kshock and Thermit for the ideas!

As usual, make a backup of ubb_library2.pl first!

Let's begin:

In "ubb_library2.pl" FIND:
unlink ("$NonCGIPath/$dfile");

ADD ABOVE it this:
&storedailes("$dfile");

Same file ADD this subroutine to the bottom before the "1;"

Code
code:

Done with ubb_library2.pl. Re-upload.

Now download the following script and follow the instructions inside:

http://www.baylorfans.com/tmp/dailies.txt

That's it!

I just uploaded a new copy of dailies.txt with two small bug fixes.

Here's a plain html file of what it might look like:

Looks pretty good, Has it been tested so it works and there are no bugs?

Okay, just added one more bugfix to the above code for "ubb_library2.pl".

I'm pretty sure everything is okay now, but if you wait one more night I'll know for sure! smile

I'd like to point something out.

In the dailies.txt, you say just to change the ext to .cgi and upload.

You refer to the file in the code as:

mydailyindex.cgi

I suggest you make the typographical changes in your instructions or code.

I have found out that UBB 5.39 lacks this in ubb_library2.pl:

unlink ("$NonCGIPath/$dfile");

What do I need to change in 5.39?

NBAustin,

Those are two separate files:) The dailies.txt file needs to be changed to .cgi so it can be run from the web. The mydailyindex.cgi file is where the info is stored. Good question on 5.39. That's a fairly old version;) Is there a subroutine called "cleandailies" in ubb_library2.pl? If so, can you post it?
