This hack doesn't take care of the Private messages (I have inst.. the CYPM hack for 5.47e).

Should I just add some code to rename the files in the private directory??

If I change usernames, then the private messages files for the previous/old username is lost.

easy fix, all you would have to do is add a system command in perl to rename the old name for private messages into the new name.
ie.
set $Path to the path of your private messages directory
[code][/code]

I use Carnell Utilities for all username changes.

I think he means that if you chage a username using the hack it doesnt rename the users private message box, so they loose their old private messages.

Yup BassTeq is right on, I meant that the private mesg files are not renamed.

Bassteq I tried the system calls but they don't work. I guess I will test them out in a separate script first.

For now, since I do not want users to change names themselves, I will do such changes myself in the process, move the private mesg files (rename them) myself.

svr, those system calls were just examples, the path/varibales/filenames I just made up, it was just meant as a guide for you when writing your own system calls.
