Looks good but just a tip.
You've hardcoded in the path
/cgi-bin/ubb/ipSearch.cgi
in several positions. Not all people would be
using the same path. So maybe just use a variable and tell people to modify it accordingly.

Yep I am also getting a 500 error even though it perl -c compiles OK, and I have it 755'ed.

Jokingdown can you place this in a proper text file and upload the file onto a server so that we can download it ? thx

The correct extension is UL, and the right permissions....

have you tested perl -w ipSearch.cgi?
a local copy of all files is required; $CGIPath must be the local path of the "UltBB.setup".

OMG!

This works perfectly, I shouldn't have tested it on my IP though, I got A LOT of results smile

I was looking for this option for so long! This will get rid of those abusers registering once again after banning. (well, not always, but it's a great help!)

Ok, I've got 1 request and 1 question about the ipSearch:

Request: could you please make it so that only admins can use this function? Because if someone else finds out about this ipSearch everyone can search...

Question: Is it very CPU demanding? I saw it searched some while, and I'm afraid my ISP will kick my *** if I abuse his CPU, lol

Hmm.. yet another request, hope I don't stretch it smile If so just ignore me.

It would be really great if you would get the username of the person posting with that IP in the results.

I don't think that this is a big add-on (of course I might be wrong) as you are probably browsing the .cgi files in the forumx/ directory, and in the same line as the IP number the username is available as well.

Cheers,

CT.

it's a good idea to limit the access to the ipSearch and print the UserName ...

i'm now to busy to write it.

i don't know the load of the script. i have local only a Win32/Apache and on the webspace i cant see the CPU load. you can reduce the load, i think, when you change this line
