Hi all. I DL'ed this hack from the database - https://ubbdev.com/db/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=000045 looks ok, but as i read more, right at the end of the instructions, it seems that I must upload a "smilies.txt" and then convert it to a .cgi extension. fair enough, but it was not included in the zip from the database. Has anyone got this? Thanks

No the hack has one file - smiliecp-instructions.txt - its instructions to hack the cpanel2.cgi, postings.cgi, ubbmail.cgi, etc. Its not a script.

Yes, I have found a link.....UBBDEV, u have forgotten to add the smilie.txt. There is a link here for the script itself - http://feyenoordmb.virtualave.net/ubbhacks/smilies.txt Might as well add it to the database, save the trouble of others posting this problem.

Nope....The refferences to "smilies.txt" are as follows - "###Now rename the smilies.txt to smilies.cgi and make sure the perl path is correct" and .cgi - "###Save your smilies.cgi and upload smilies.cgi, cpanel2.cgi, postings.cgi, ubbmail.cgi, announce.cgi to your cgi-directory in ASCII and upload your cplinks.html to your non-cgi directory ###chmod the smilies.cgi to 777" It confused me, i can tell u  . Would be rather useful to have that script included in the zip.

Yeah it should be incuded in the zip as smilies.txt instead of on the net.

I have it too, but it would be much better with clikable smilies like on v6 versions.

What are you talking about?? Both the Viper and Prowler boards have clickable smilies. Sure, you have to click on the smilie button to open the java window...but then all you have to do is click on the smilie you want and the code is inserted!! not quite the same...but close! Or am I missing something???

You mean the crack smilies hack? I have that too. I think LDexter wants a clickable smilie code, not a JavaScript [IMG] tag....that can mess up some, as people delete a word or so. Would be really good if someone could alter it to a clickable smiley code instead IMO, but i guess no-one would bother now........
