I guess this isnt exactly a hack per se...but i need one, because my forumindex are just too big i think, and my forum engines just wont work. I've tried limiting the words, gone from 210 to 150 threads......but i need a hack for it. anyone managed to find an external search engine maybe? Help!

Try rebuilding your Search index and see if that helps at all.

this mod is only for the search in one forum.
it read only 250 lines per cycle.

i have no demo online. on my local system (unhacked 5.47a) i have no problems with this mod.

Hi joking-down wat does this hack do? i have search disabled coz it is the most cpu hoggingscript I have come across lately. Does this make it less cpu intensive ?

this mod read in one cycle only 250 lines and process them.

1. cycle: line 0 - 249
2. cycle: line 250 - 499
3. cycle: line 500 - 749
...

i think the load is not so high because you have not all entries of the forum. you can also search in forums with an indexfile > 3 MB.

i have only a Win32 System local. I have no load-limit like Unix
