Hi joking down, I was totally impressed by the way you solved the search engine problem...sounds like you really know your stuff. There is one more hack that I think is great, but has always been left out of the database, because it doesnt work exactly...its the Interest Indicator Icon Hack. Its a great idea...every time you post in a thread, a small dot appears in a folder icon in the form listing, which really helps you track on what threads u have posted in. Although it seems to work after you have hacked it - the cookies never quite work out again, as you constanly have "new threads" in the forum listings. Its a pity....maybe you could have a look at the code? Its not in the database as I have said, but i have got a copy of it - InterestIndicator.zip

Or if anyone else could have a go at it......

Just replace the parenthesis with another character, and simply state that chatacter X should really be Character Z, in the code below.

Nope, Im afraid it does not work at all, its back to the problem I had before...and this time the Indicators dont even show up (as you can see from the pic above, I have posted in some of those threads, and some should have "closedib.gif"). Grrr, this hack is such a bugger! Any ideas whats happening wrong now joking-down?

Myybe put "'s around the 0 in Border=0. *Shrugs*

search in sub DoPostTheReply and sub DoPostTheTopic

only the new postings have the Interest Indicator Icon...

Ok,I will have another go, its worth the effect, i think its a great hack.

Joking down, I see you tested a post on my board, sorry mate, but as soon as I found out it wasnt working 100%, I removed the hack.

Nope, that will not work im afraid....and the cookies go all weird again. biut it is possible - amazingly, i registered on another 5.45c...and the admin has actually got it working! Here, u can test it - http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/Ultimate.cgi I dont know what he has done.....any more ideas joking-down?

Nope. it wont work...I wil leave the faulty hack on myboard, so u could test it if u want...Im sure i havent made a coding error.....

in PrefsSubmit the cookie is set without the domain and the variable for profilenumber is wrong (the HTML-Code show:

Hmmm, that doesnt help it seems...and there's an error now ("Done, but with errors" in the browser")...I closed the "get cookie" as well....

add the JS-Code for getting the cookies...

you don't save the profilenumber in the cookie there.

Ive done it JD.....and its no show again. Im sure the code is right (lol, im so used by doing it ) but nothing.....not even in the ultimate.cgi. I will leave the code in there, if u want to test it out.....I would even send you the files if u want, check it out for erros....perhaps I have made some sort of mistake, i severly doubt it....

i don't know why the cookies are not saved in the browser. i don't know why.

Hi CT. Your code is worong somewhere (obviously ) so the hack you polaced, has got a type error. Theres no 2 ways about it.

JD helps me out, I gave him the files, and I had made an error somewhere....now my indicator works Its a good hack.....JD might be a bit too busy now though.....I could send you my files, although you couldnt use them, you could isolate the hacks and see where u are going wrong....

Fixed it. It was around line 700 for me:
