I moved my board and reset all the paths and permissions properly for the poll hack but it won't let me close or delete polls now.

This is what it tells me:

"The polls.temp file could not be opened because Permission denied."

I find NO polls.temp file anywhere on the server.

Can someone help me out here?

All other functions work?

Looking at the code REAL QUICK it looks like a permission problem....but it is easy to say that.

It is trying to create that .temp file....are write permissions enabled?

Yes, I set all the permissions according to the hack docs.

OK, if you updated functions.pl...another thing to look at is the UltPoll.setup file. Should be in the same folder. What is in there?

It's all correct.

Can you still make polls and edit them? And have you checked the files it cant write in are in the data directory?

I can make polls, but the hack never had edit enabled. (2.1)

It's a partial problem then, I only know how to solve when the whole Poll feature has those sorts of errors coming up.

I still haven't figured this one out. Everything looks correct, yet i can't close or delete polls because of that "temp" file.

Possibly take solice in knowing that the .temp file is CREATED even when you OPEN a poll, which is working.

In admin.cgi, try changing this:

The change is for the error message. In the first one it tells it to generate the file_error for "polls.temp" when ACTUALLY it looks like it should be telling there is a problem with the members.temp file.

The give it a try. BACK EVERYTHING up! Looking at the code...if you were really having a problem with polls.temp, you would have it across the board...but you are not (I think).

I solved the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the hack using 2.1b....

Now, I'd like to get rid of the left hand blank column. I got rid of the right hand side one but I keep doing something wrong with the one on the left that aligns with the "New posts/No New Posts" column.

can someone tell what code I need to change in UBBPoll.pl?

That won't work because the colspans will stuff up. Only way to do it is to make a whole new table.
