Sorta like what was added in a layout hack I think...another colum to show the hits.

This flat out can not be done due to the cache.

Well I did notice that there was a total number of hits in the forum in the Control Panel. If you are wanting to show activity in your forums by the number of hits then I'm sure someone could make a hack to show that value on the main page.
