Just have a dummy link to yahoo that says "free porno here"...any aol user worth there salt will instantly click it out of habbit. once on yahoo they'll be so confused over not having received free prono that they'll have forgotten all about your site... j/k guys There are cgi redirectors and stuff, and you can play with .htaccess if your on a spanking apaché server...but for your forum just ban the root aol IP...i'm sure some knowledgable person out there will know it the number...

Dulles..
Thats where all AOL stuff traces to..
IP masking is pretty cool, at least, when I've seen it in action.. you could try that.
Or just make your site private, requiring password and account, and don't allow anyone on aol to sign up...
Any particular reason you're trying to make the world a better place?

To ban all AOL users from registering, add the following to your IP ban list: 205.188. 152.163. That will ban AOL's two main proxy servers, and since most AOLers don't even know what a proxy server is, you should be fine.

Interesting, you all certainly have an interesting concept of who the typical "AOL user" is. Just curious, why don't you want AOL users viewing your site?? Anyway, go ahead and ban those 2 IP numbers that are listed in the previous post. I'll still be able to access your site since my AOL IP is neither one of the above. -Lawson ![[Linked Image]](http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/s/3dlil/disgust.gif)

Actually, unless you're rerouting your connection through another proxy server, you won't. As I said, those are the two prefixes for their main proxy servers, which all AOL users are routed through. Your computer's IP address obviously won't begin with either of those numbers, but it won't matter, since it's the proxy IPs that are detected and banned, and thus also anyone connecting through them.

Hmmm, so, since your site looks like **** on AOL (which is not uncommon), you're banning AOL users?
You could always make a note that says "for best performance and appearance, do not use your AOL browser."

You *DO* realize that IE is AOL's default browser, and has been for three years...?

Not sure why you would really want to ban AOL users, but well here are the IP's that you can block to kill all AOL traffic
