How hard would it be to make a customizable field, that could be editted by the admins of a board, to contain a custom posting title? (Instead of being limited to the 4 posting titles Administrator, Moderator, Member, Junior Member.)

I think on vBulletin, the Administrator can set a user to a certain title, and it'll show up instead of the stock title.

I'd say that if there was no info in the custom field, have it revert back to the stock 4 fields. If there IS a title in the custom field, have THAT displayed instead.

Someone's already done this. One of the first few things to be done, I believe.

Are you referring to the "Stars/Custom Status hack"??? I only want the custom tag editted by administrators. Not by the people. For example, for my Counter-Strike board, I can set the tag for all of the members of my clan, and all the members of another clan to a different one.

No, I'm pretty sure someone did it via admin option... but the control panel interface keeps changing..

first of all, before you guys ask if theres a hack for something, search the database. If its not there, THEN post your question.
second: I have the stars 2000 hack on my board. the thing is that I want my members to choose their member state themself.
I have allready did this hack (there are like 5 different ones :p) but when I do this the stars 2000 hack ****s up....
can anyone give me a hint?

First of all, I DID check the board.

Second of all, I don't want the users to be able to pick it. It's different from the stars one. I don't care about stars, I just want the custom status, that can be modified by admins in cp. That's it.

I've been looking for this hack as well. I don't want the Star hack OR the user decided Custom title hack ... I want the admin created custom user title hack which can be set in the control panel as well. I've searched for it and searched to no avail. This is the first thread I've read about the control panel one.

I had an awesome hack for 5.47d which enabled you to set custom user titles by # of posts. Doesn't seem like it should be that hard to duplicate, come to think of it ... hm ....

Do you still have a link to that hack?? I can port the thing over. No big deal.
