I don't know if this would be a "mod", but could anyone tell me how to limit the number of characters people can use in their post subjects.

On a side note: how come the server tells me I can't delete a certain file? It says something like "You don't have permission to perform that action". Even though I'm the one that uploaded the file a couple of minutes ago. It's my server space, and I'm the King of that serverspace, so I should be able to delete anything

ok theres a number of ways i could do this..
i could make a whole new hack with a cp addon for this feature or the simple way!

go into public_new_topic_form.pl
find:


in that line change
MAXLENGTH="85"

to whatever you want the max lenght of the topic to be.....
example
for the topic to be only 45 characters long...
MAXLENGTH="45"
lol
simple as that!

oops now i remembered ytou can change the subject when editing
do the same to
public_edit_post.pl
find



change
MAXLENGTH="85"

to what you want!

It worked fine! The reason I asked here first, is that last time I changed the HTML stuff in a file (version 5.?) the forum stopped working
