How about a hack that displays the UBB's current local time somwhere at the top of the Forum List and the Topics List? I think this would be useful to see how recent the newest posts are in comparision to the actual time. It's very hard to judge how recent a post is when you don't know where the server is based. Anyone else think this might be useful? Thinking about it this could be a problem with the cache, so I'll shut up now

This is indeed an excellent idea, but would require either disabling or tricking the cache. Borg would be the one to teach how to do that after Who's Online is let into the wild.

It would have to figure out the local and remote timezones, and would rely on the user having their clocks set correctly...

So I could have a script get the time off of my host/server? That would be accurate enough. My host is Linux based... must be a command to get that info. Thoughts?

I'm glad some of you like the idea, I look forward to someone coming up with something I thought there might be a simple Perl command that could get the servers time and print it to the page, but I don't know much about perl, so again, I'll shut up Cheers

Just a quick comment, its now possible to use the Whos Online page to establish the servers current time so if this could be incorporated into the Forum List page that would be excellent For Example where it reads "-Ben@KvR- - There are 17 members, and 11 guests on the forums within the last 10 minutes." it would be good if it added the time too. i.e. -Ben@KvR- - There are 17 members, and 11 guests on the forums within the last 10 minutes (Current time 02:00).

any progress on this yet?
i've been using the javascript technique, but that of course just reads the time from the user's computer (thus, tricking them into thinking the board's time is their time).
i would like to have the time and date displayed atop each of my main 3 pages, so that users have an idea how old a post is, if its something that was JUST posted, etc, etc.
is there, perhaps, a way for a javascript to be server-side coded? all of the dates/times displayed on the page are already server side displayed, and refer to the time zone of the ubb itself (not each user's computer). is there anyway to "rip" the script from that given information?

There's a free cgi script available here - http://bandley3.com/scripts/actualtime/index.shtml that can be called to display the servers time (Or any offset you choose) maybe someone could base a mod around this
