I would like the ability to be able to use a SSI command to UBB to bring up any number of useful variables from within UBB. Especially who the person is who is logged in on UBB.

For instance, on the front of my site, I could do a


and get back the person's login name of who ever is logged in to UBB at the time.

This could be useful to pull other variables out for the rest of the site, like maybe TOTAL REGISTERED USERS, LAST POST ON FORUM foo, and things, that way if we all need something custom like the Active Topics mod, we can pull out the variables we need via SSI right into our own HTML, the way we design it.

Just a thought, I have no idea what the feasibilites are on it.

You're out of luck on both parts here.

Not only can CGI output not be easily parsed for SSI, but SSI includes can not carry query strings.

Perhaps an individual cgi can be made for each variable needed.

About the parsing, not sure where the problem is. As long as the CGI can kick back some text for SSI to insert it into my HTML, I can do the rest.
