Members have asked for the ability to list other members by state. So they can see who lives close to them. I also would like to see this hack.
Understandably UBB doesn't save the "state" in its database. So one could either use a custom field or search the location field.

Wait for the memberslist.
Make a "state" field required.
Edit the member list to show that information. Easy as 2 lines.
