At one time there was a hack called newsdisplay. I believe the author was OBED?
This is different than what is used for news on this board.
What was nice about this is that you have unlimited options to modify how the forum is displayed just changing the html code.
My problem with upgrading to V6 is that I have not been able to figure out all the new field names as of yet to modify.
Per chance anyone working on something like this?

Ive been looking for this as well. I found old threads back to Febuary for this. Ive decided to try and hack it my self. Ill post what i did if I ever get it to work. So far Ive been able to create a news view for my forum which loads a different layout for the board. Now I just need to combine some templates to give it that news layout look. Ill let you know how it goes.
