I see that UBBDEV is using the Links 2.0 software to power their UBB links database . I believe it was Allen Ayres who mentioned somewhere that you folks were working on integrating it with UBB 6.x.

This would be very interesting: if it were possible to integrate the links membership/newsletter/submission system to the membership system of UBB, it would make for quite an ideal marriage.

We're currently evaluating Links 2.0, and it certainly has all the desired features as far as flexibility and usability go, but we're hesitating because it maintains it's own link submission/membership database.

Anyone else?

Excellent idea RTM wink

I have been talking with Alex from G-T recently, they have some UBBâ„¢ integrated lines coming out that we'll be reviewing for an upcoming issue of our U-zine . Hopefully we can work several of their applications into full membership integration. More as that develops in the next 2-3 weeks.

Anyone wanting to work something like this up now with the Links 2.0 application, it'd be cool, we'd include that as part of the issue as well. smile Basically, upon registration, one of the profile fields would be nice to auto-submit into a drop-down list of categories. In our case it would be a natural for it to integrate with the home-page link with a drop-down list of website categories/sub-categories and a check-box to include their site in the links database.

That would be excellent - integration of their product with InfoPop UBB. They're both great products with each having their own distinct advantages as far as features go.

If there is indeed news on a G-T Links integration with the UBB membership DB in the next few weeks I don't think it would be worthwhile developing any hacks in the interim.

smile By the way, your integration example is quite elegant - it would work for our sites as well.
