I require a unique email for registration so when a member changes their email address in their profile, the UBB changes the member's password and emails the password to the new email address.
Many members incorrectly type their email address, effectively locking them out of their account because they cannot retrieve their password.
I would like a 2nd email verification box to be added to the modify profile page. This would require that the member type their email address twice to change it, eliminating errors.

I don't quite get what you want. You want a 2nd email box so they can enter 2 emails?

He wants to add a second box, so they can type the email address again, then within the script, compare the 2 addresses, make sure they are the same, then continue.
What version board do you want to do this on?
I can't afford a good signature editor

when you have 2 fields for the eMail, the user use copy & paste...
i modified by board and send two eMails when the user change the eMail. One to the new Address whith a link to verify the new eMail and one to the old Address with a link to cancle the eMail change... now the user can change the eMail again if the new eMail was wrong.

Ahhh. Yes what version? I'm sure UBB 6 has 2 email verifications.

I am running 6.2.1 here . Here is my problem: On the Edit My Profile page (ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=edit_my_profile) members are accidentally typing an incorrect email address and then submitting the form. When this happens, the ubb changes their password and then emails this new password to the member. The member cannot get his new password because the email address in his profile is incorrect. To change the email address in their profile, a member should have to type the new email address into two textboxes on the form. When submitted, the script will verify that the member typed an identical email address in both textboxes. This will ensure the member did not make a mistake. Ok I hope I explained it better!

Maybe you could retrieve their pass from the CP so they can change the e-mail themselves.

Lord Dexter: what do you think im doing now?
This may not be a problem for you that run sites with 1000 members or so
With 21,000 members and 1,500 new members signing up each month on my ubb this is more than just a minor nusiance.

Well I can see why it would be a nuisance.
I'm guessing somebody will have to custom create this for you.
