dont know if this has been made before or even thought of ???

how about a top 100 section for people to show off there sites (it would be gr8 for this board) and also i think it would be a good traffic graber because the members would have a link to vote for them at the top 100 part but it would have to work like the other top 100 sites out there ie autorank pro etc

i think this does sound good but it would be a big hack ??? and my cgi is not up to it...

where members can add their sites, vote, etc... we have plans to integrate it a little better into ubb in the future, but aren't there yet. It's the links script by gossamer-threads.com

yeah that is quite cool i think it looks really good... never even saw it

but i do like the autorank pro look, if you made it so that the top 10 had banners shown and because autorank has its own index.html file it can be submitted to give further traffic --- i like autorank pro the look makes people want to look about.....

i think i will fit autorank in somewhere underneath the chat link but it wont be intergrated it will stand alone.

In a previous thread we had discussed the integration of Links into the UBB membership system. Has there been any work done on this? If memory serves correct you mentioned that there were discussions with the developers of G-T Links to develop a UBB registration addon/plugin. I hope this is still in the works, and furthermore, I hope it will be available for the $150 Links 2.0 product ...and not just for the $450 Links SQL version.

well i was thinkin of doin something like this for my site, i wanted to do a database of ubb 6.0x and 6.x hacks but seein how dev has that coverd and i dont want many people on my ass i might run this acros the table if i could get to it. i dont wanna steal any ones idea tho so if everyone was cool with it i could buy a domain and i have tons of space ^_^

It sure would be very cool to have the two products better integrated

the talks with g-t are going slow... I need to search over there and see if it's already beeb done so we don't re-invent the wheel. The auto-placement to links with registration to ubb is a cool idea

Thanks for the response - I also have been stopping by their site, and their forums, to see if there is any news about UBB/Links integration, and there doesn't seem to be anything happening.

It's a shame, because the Links product is so well designed...

Perhaps if a FAQ were written by InfoPop (or a UBBDEVer) on how to interact with the UBB membership registration system, it would be helpful. Then we could try and hook many other interesting scripts to the registration engine of UBB.

Our fanfic site is completely LINKS based, and we're moving to UBB as well. Our site would be perfect if we could only integrate the two somehow.

Well, now that Gossamer Threads has released their own discussion forum software, I don't think they will be inclined to focus too much effort on integrating either Links 2.x or Links SQL with the UBB user registration system.

It's a bit of a shame, since I am too comfortable with UBB to switch to their new forum software.. yet I really like their links software - despite the cost factor.
