I'm hoping this mod already exists, so I figured I'd ask here. What I'm thinking is:
I run a mailing list that uses Majordomo, and a UBB. I'd like to have my list automatically post the body of messages it receives into a special forum. Kind of like an online archive.
I know there are issues, like preventing ordinary users from posting there too, but I'm sure it's possible, and I'm sure it can be done without touching UBB code.
Anyway, if anyone knows of a mod (or method) that does this, I'd love to hear it!
Edit: Been doing some thinking. Should be easy. Simply add a mail alias that pipes the messages to a new script (as well as any other places; such as Majordomo). The new script pulls out the important bits of the message (subject, body, etc), possibly by using a tool such as mhonarc. Then it puts all this info into the web environment and "posts" it to a special forum. It can either mimic a cookie, or use cookieless posting to do it, and can "log in" as a moderator for this forum. (The forum will only accept postings from moderators and admins.)
Voila!
Thanks
