Would anyone be able to either show me how or create a hack/mod to allow linking to a file for the header and footer that u can specify for each page, it would be ideal for me that way when i update the header of my website, i would not have to copy the html code into the cp, it would be a really handy hack and would definatly get my praise!

just use ssi... you stick your ssi code in the header&footer and then modify the included files if you need to change...

i found cgi would not work, in the end i found out how i could hack the UBB to do it, simple solution go into public_common.pl find the header, above the header go $header = &openfileasvar(filename);

then inside the header when u want to add the page just type $header and it includes the file, u can see it doing it at www.themodplace.co.uk

For cgi you have to use #exec cgi (I believe) and in most cases you have to name your pages with SSI with the .shtml extension.
