When someone posts and extremely long URL the formatting of the thread becomes very messed up (Stretched tables), not everyone uses the add URL function to get around this.

How about when someone types a long URL what is actually displayed is truncated to a defined length, so the actual link would still work but the displayed URL would be truncated

i.e. the [URL=http://www.therealylongurl.com/etcetctecblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah........etc. ]

bit would still contain the long address but the displayed link would be shortened

i.e to http://www.therealylongurl.com/etcetctecblah.....

When you get your hands on 6.7, I suggest taking a look at sub elipsurl in ubb_lib... smile

It's not done by default, but it won't be too hard to turn on. Now that I think about it, I wonder why I put it in there... surely there's a reason. Figures. This is gonna bug me... *seeks*

*edit* Aha. Yes. The Transition page now properly shortens "Returning you to..." URL wording when they're too long. Transition also uses StandardHTML now... much nicer. smile
