UBB.Developers Forums Community Development Design, Style and Graphics Color settings..

Well, being the artisticly challenged person I am.. I figured I might try and persuade UBBDev artist community in lending me some assistance. Just to let you know, I'm not beyong groveling, or lavishing immense praise for the rest of my life for sevices rendered. Anyways, I've been trying to get a color scheme for my UBB that has a very Earthy/woodsy feel,heavy on the green. I have tried, and well, it hasn't been pretty. The message board will be the primary focus of the site and I plan on working the rest of site's colors around it. I looked in the database and most of the ones that were "green based" were a bit too bright/neon for the feel I'm going for. Anyways, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

We here at UBBDev typically work a little better and faster if you are, in fact, grovelling and lavishing immense praises upon us. Virgin sacrifices to us are good, too.

At any rate, I'll play around with some stuff and see what I can come up with.

Oh wise and talented Squage, I shall attempt to use those colors in a combination that does not make peoples eyes hurt. Oh my, the world renowned *cough* Skorpion is going to attempt to aid me? I shall set forth immediately and try to find some virgin to be sacrificed.. (Umm, their sorta tough to find nowadays, how about an offer of my first born male child?)

ANd yes, I need to get out much more. The board is for a roleplaying site, which may explain my..at times.. Insanity..

it looks kinda like one of those color samplers from the paint stores, doesn't it? and, those colors are all websafe, so even the losers with 640x480 and 256 colors can see them properly.

Hehehe.. (Can you tell I am constantly lurking in hopes of more color combos to try? ) Aye, I'm trying to keep this so the most possible can view without problems. I have caught flack in the past for not doing so, I just recently started checking my pages at lowers resolutions.. "You mean not everyones broswes at 1600x1200, True Color?".. Doh!

Here's some colors (in no particular order, really). Some of them are probably the same as the ones squage used, tho. Conveniently in table format for easy color code finding.

i used gradients till it couldn't handle gradients no more (in a Scottish accent, of course)
