Is there a password expiration modification available, we'd like to expire user passwords on a 30 or 60 day rotation and force the user to change passwords. I have not even yet found the module where the password is authenticated. (sorry I'm a JAVA guy looking at some of this code thats not familiar to me)

Look for subs with "verify_id" in the name in ubb_lib and lib_2.
It would probably be better to do this as an external cron job that periodically checks the user passwords, then mails users when they're getting close... (and locking out users that have expired)
