I use UBB 6.4 (mod) on our site and it would be very interesting to use the UBB user-ID for other applications on our site.
I mean: if you login to the forum i would like to use the same username and user-ID for a PHP/MySQL applications we have build ourselves.
How do i decrypt the UBB cookie? Are there any "hacks" that can give us the correct username and user-ID to PHP?

Hmm...Sub Zero and Paulus managed to intergrate the UBB login with their PHP site. In fact Sub Zero also was able to add the welcome message that you would see on the forum summary when logged in. I did not intergrate this with my site yet but will do so soon. Thread 1 Thread 2 Look for the scripts and download files in each thread. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Be advised when using the cookie to authenticate that sometimes the cookie format will change which will require you to change your authentication routines.
Also, on my PHP page that I use the UBB login with, I acutally display some things based off whether they are registered or now. Gives you the ability to provide content to just your forum registered users.
