In my point of view the ubb is much faster and reliable than any other board program The problem is in the table print of the table –for example a topic layout will look some thin like this Table 1 start Table 2 start Table 2 end Table 3 start Table 3 end Table 4 start Table 4 end Table 5 start Table 5 end Table 6 start Table 6 end Table 7 start Table 7 end Table 1 end
In this case the topic will not be shown for the user unless all the table 1 is loaded from the server
I have alter this in my ubb 6.21 and it works fine The good thing about it is 1- if a user enter a long line in his post he will make his post table long but not the whole topic 2- the topic will be loaded to the user post by post 3- it give the user the look if the speed is faster then what it use to be a demo http://www.qosman.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=009576 can any body do this for 6.5 the only change is in public_topic_page.pl
most newer browsers stream tables now, so that they begin appearing as the information is downloaded... but yes, it would be easy enough A $TBT and a $TBB would need to be added, which would increase the bandwidth, possibly making long threads take longer to download
